Pirates on the podium in Valkenswaard

Edwina's GCL team, the St Tropez Pirates, has made it another brilliant podium finish.
Saturday's runner-up spot in Valkenswaard, at the 14th leg of the 2019 GCL season, made the St Tropez Pirates jump up the GCL rankings to take the joint lead with London Knights. The two teams now sit on the exact same score of 272 points, with the Knights just ahead in the ranking due to their higher number of wins this season.
Pieter and Edwina teamed up in Valkenswaard and made it a brilliant double clear. Edwina brought out Veronese in the first round on Friday but made a horse change to the 10-year-old chestnut gelding Casquell for the final round. The duo gave a masterful performance, bringing home the clear for the team to keep them on their score of zero. With Pieter Devos repeating the clear, the team finished off as the first team to produce a double clear. But the 'New York Empire' kept cool heads under enormous pressure and made it a spectacular and faster double clear to take home the victory at GCL Valkenswaard.
