Edwina and Catenda secured another podium finish on the 5* Longines Global Champions Tour last weekend to finish as runner-up in the 1.55m Saint Laurent Eiffel Challenge. Just 0.2s separated Edwina from the Turkish winner, Ömer Karaevli, in the thrilling jump-off.

Course designer Gregory Bodo put together a challenging and technical course featuring many related distances. Faults fell all around the arena, and at the halfway stage, Edwina Tops-Alexander was the only clear, and it looked like there might not have been a jump-off. But five combinations earnt themselves a spot in the power-packed jump-off.

First out the starting gates, Edwina Tops-Alexander had a perfect roll back and took strides out where possible. Finishing in 40.05s, she was putting pressure on the rest of the field. However, the Turkish rider Ömer Karaevli pulled out all the stops and finished in 39.85s. Home rider Edward Lewy took the third spot.
