Yesterday, Edwina and Veronese Teamjoy made it a brilliant fourth place in the 1m55 Copa S. M. El Rey - Volvo trophy, 'The King’s Cup', on the final day of the 5*
Longines Global Champions Tour of Madrid.
Edwina pulled out all the stops on the big grass arena in Madrid as Veronese sailed through to the 9 horse jump-off to deliver a brilliant double clear. A gusty turn and a flat out gallop saw them finish in a brilliant fourth place. On the same day, Veronese also made it a 6th place in the 1m45 speed class.
Ego van Orti also showed excellent form to finish on just four faults in both 1m60 GCL rounds.
Edwina says:
“ I’m extremely happy with how Ego and Veronese jumped. Ego hasn’t shown at this level nor with myself for quite some time and he showed that he is in good shape. Veronese really stepped up and jumped the most difficult class she had ever competed in. So I’m very pleased at the performance of both horses and I hope it’s a good preparation for Rome this weekend “After a great show weekend in Madrid, Edwina is now back in Valkenswaard for the CSI2* show at Tops Internasjonal Arena, before going to CSIO5* Rome.
